Day 5 we went on a really wild walk

Today we went for a lovely walk to Sodbury Hill Fort.

We started at Old Sudbury church, where there was a lovely view across buttercup meadows.

Then we walked along fields full of cows, where we stopped for a picnic. We identified wild flowers - this pink one is called Red Campion.

Through a wood, up to the hill fort. We enjoyed playing around the grassy ramparts and in the long grass. It was very peaceful.

Then back down through the wood, past fields of sheep and horses, and back up to the church.

On our way back we saw some lovely old oak trees, with perfect holes for owls! And a cute squirrel. We also bumped into Charlie Gogo's red cousin. But he wasn't as friendly as Charlie and flew off before we had a chance to snap his photo!

Back home we had some water fun to cool off!
